Making quick cuts to your video clips just became faster and more intuitive! We’ve added a dedicated Slice Tool directly to the Editor timeline, giving you total control over how you split and trim your footage.

What's new?

• Dedicated Slice Tool: Click the new scissor icon above the timeline to slice your video and audio clips precisely where your playhead is positioned.

• Keyboard Shortcut: Speed up your workflow with the Option + Click shortcut to instantly cut clips on the fly.

• Faster Trimming: Split long takes, remove unwanted pauses, or isolate specific moments without breaking your editing flow.

How to use it

1. Open your project in the Editor.

2. Move the playhead to the exact point in the timeline you want to cut.

3. Click the Scissors icon above the timeline toolbar (or hold Option and click on the timeline track).

Posting your generated clips to your social channels just got a whole lot easier! We're excited to introduce native integrations for Facebook and Threads, allowing you to publish and schedule your video clips directly without leaving the app.

• Direct Facebook Publishing: Seamlessly post your vertical clips and short videos directly to your connected Facebook pages and profile.

• Threads Integration: Share video clips straight to your Threads feed with custom text captions and scheduling options.

How to set it up

1. Go to Social platforms in the left sidemenu.

2. Click Connect Account next to Facebook or Threads.

3. Authenticate your accounts, and you're ready to publish!

Abrupt cuts between multi-speaker crops can sometimes feel jarring during fast-paced conversations. We’ve introduced Blend Crops under our Framing & Motion settings to create smoother visual transitions across speaker framing changes.

Ensuring your captions, speaker titles, and visual elements don't get covered by social media UI buttons can make or break your video performance. We’ve added platform-specific Safe Zone Overlays directly into the editor view so you can edit with total layout confidence.

New Feature: Platform Safe Zones

• Visual Platform Overlays: Toggle real-time safe zone overlays for platforms like YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels directly over your video canvas.

• Avoid UI Clutter: Easily see where platform buttons (like Like, Share, Remix, and Comment bars) sit so your text and key visual moments stay perfectly visible and unobstructed.

Reviewing your generated clips directly from the project list should be effortless. We’ve added visual video scrubbing previews so you can instantly check specific moments in a clip without needing to open the full editor or play the entire video through.

New Feature: Hover & Scrub Video Previews

• Visual Scrubbing: Hover over the progress bar on any clip card to scrub through the video and view a real-time thumbnail preview at that exact timestamp.

• Timestamp Tooltips: Get precise time feedback with a clear timestamp overlay as you hover, making it quick to spot key visual moments, captions, or cuts before exporting or editing.

Establishing authority and introducing podcast guests or hosts instantly boosts the production value of your clips. We’ve added customizable Speaker Titles to the Editor so you can overlay professional lower-third graphics directly onto your videos.

Features include:

• Professional Name Cards: Add a speaker’s name and title (e.g., "Michael W | Chief Choppity") directly over your video tracks.

• Pre-Designed Graphic Styles: Choose from a library of custom lower-third designs including Gradient, Outline, Vivid, Card, Frame, Accent, Minimal, and Bar.

• Timeline Control: Precision control over timing with dedicated lower-third text and graphic layers on your editor timeline.

We rebuilt the engine that decides how your clips are framed. Instead of sampling a few frames and averaging the crop marks, Choppity now tracks every person continuously through your video, detects who's speaking, and frames them - with a camera that moves like an operator, not an algorithm.

• Speaker-aware framing - the frame follows the person talking, not just the nearest face

• Steadier shots - seated speakers stay locked in frame; the camera only moves when the subject really moves

• Proper split screens - two-person podcasts and webcasts stack cleanly, with each speaker cropped to their own camera, no seams or sidebars from Zoom-style recordings

• Sharper cut detection - scene changes are caught more reliably, so framing resets exactly where your video cuts and nowhere else

• Consistent angles - when your video returns to a camera angle, the framing returns to the exact same crop

• Less letterboxing - the engine finds a usable close-up in far more shots

This applies to all newly analysed videos automatically - no settings to change.

Handling high-resolution, long-form footage shouldn't require compressing your files or dropping quality before uploading. We’ve massive upgraded our media processing pipeline so you can drop in your raw, original files without breaking a sweat.

New Feature: High-Res & Heavyweight File Uploads

• 4K Resolution Support: You can now upload and process full 4K resolution videos directly into Choppity to ensure your short clips retain crisp, maximum visual quality.

• 10GB File Size Limit: Upload limits have been boosted up to 10GB per file, making it effortless to process multi-hour podcast episodes, livestreams, and uncompressed high-bitrate video files.
