Translating captions to another language

Choppity focuses on accurate transcription and styled captions in the original spoken language. Full in-app translation to another language is limited today, but you can still reach multilingual audiences with a practical workflow.
What works today
Generate captions and transcripts in the source language (97 languages supported). Export TXT from the Transcript tool or SRT/VTT from clip exports, then translate the text in your preferred translation tool or CMS.
Workflow for multilingual posts
- Finish your clip with captions in the original language.
- Export the transcript as TXT or copy caption text from the editor.
- Translate externally (human review recommended for brand tone).
- Re-import or manually paste translated captions if your platform accepts sidecar files.
Best practices
For global channels, keep one master clip and create localized caption files per market rather than re-processing the same video multiple times. Short on-screen text in hooks may need manual adjustment after translation because word length changes by language.
Roadmap note
Native caption translation inside Choppity may expand over time. Check release notes in the app changelog for updates.
