Choppity lets you shape your story by trimming ends, cutting sections, and moving clips on the timeline. Most edits start from the transcript, so you work with words instead of tiny waveform handles.

Trim a clip

  1. Select your main video on the timeline.
  2. Open the Trim sub-tab.
  3. Adjust the From and To time fields, drag the purple selection handles in the transcript, or drag the clip edges on the timeline.

The highlighted transcript shows exactly what stays in the clip. This is the fastest way to tighten intros and outros.

Cut or split sections

Open the Cut sub-tab. Click or drag across words to remove them from the clip. Removed words appear struck through; click or drag those gaps to Restore them.

To extract part of a clip, select multiple words in Trim mode and choose Create a clip from the popup. That turns the selection into its own consecutive clip you can move independently.

Reorder clips

Drag clips horizontally on the timeline to change their order. Overlapping clips on the same track move to higher tracks automatically. Video clips stay consecutive as you rearrange, which keeps playback smooth.

Tips

Click any word in the transcript to jump the playhead there. Combine trim and cut to remove mistakes, tighten pacing, and keep only the moments that matter for short-form and long-form content alike.
