Why did the AI miss a moment I expected to see?

AI clip picking is smart, but it is not mind-reading. A moment you love might rank lower if it lacks a clean hook, context, or energy compared with other segments in the same video.

Why a moment might be missing

• Scoring tradeoffs: Choppity favors clips that work as standalone posts. A brilliant middle without setup may lose to a weaker but self-contained segment.
• Length target: your clip duration setting may skip a 90-second story if you asked for 30-second cuts.
• Overlap caps: the AI avoids ten clips from the same 60-second stretch.
• Audio quality: crosstalk, music, or silence hurts transcript confidence.
• Custom instructions: a narrow brief can filter out moments outside that theme.

Get closer to the moment you want

1. Add custom instructions describing the topic, speaker, or quote before regenerating.
2. Try a longer clip duration if the moment needs more context.
3. Regenerate from the same video with Existing video and new settings.
4. Use Find moment search to hunt a phrase, then turn that hit into a clip.
5. Still missing? Open the full video in the editor and cut manually from the transcript.

Tips

• Check objective sort on the folder page: your moment might exist under a different goal badge.
• Podcast crosstalk: upload an isolated speaker track when possible.
