System requirements and supported browsers

Choppity runs in your browser, so a modern device keeps your Content OS fast from upload through export. Meeting these requirements avoids preview glitches and failed uploads.

Recommended browser

Google Chrome is strongly recommended. In-app preview relies on modern video APIs that work best in Chrome. Microsoft Edge and Brave also perform well. Safari and Firefox may show preview glitches; downloaded files still play correctly in other apps.

Operating systems

Use an up-to-date Windows 10 or later, macOS 12 or later, or Chrome OS. Keep automatic updates enabled for security patches and media codec support across the OS and browser together.

Hardware and connection

Reliable broadband is required for uploads and cloud rendering. For comfortable editing, use at least 8 GB RAM and a display at least 1280px wide. Desktop is best for the full editor; mobile works for checking project status on the go.

Supported upload formats

Upload MP4, MOV, or MP3. Each file can be up to 4 GB and 3 hours long. Maximum resolution is 3840x2160. 4K files wider than 1920px must stay under 60 minutes. These per-file limits apply on every plan; monthly quotas differ by subscription tier.
