Editing or deleting a brand template

Need to update an old look, free up a template slot, or replace a saved style? You manage brand templates from the Customize step when starting a long-to-short project. There is not a separate templates page in the app yet, but you can rename, delete, and recreate templates from here.

Where to find your templates

  1. Open Projects.

  2. Start Generate clips (Short clips generator): upload a new video or pick an existing one from your library.

  3. On the Customize step, open the Template dropdown. Your saved templates and Default style appear here.

Rename a template

  1. Open the Template dropdown on the Customize step.

  2. Click the three dots next to the template you want to rename.

  3. Choose Rename, enter the new name, and confirm.

Delete a template

  1. Open the Template dropdown on the Customize step.

  2. Click the three dots next to the template you want to remove.

  3. Choose Delete.

After deletion, Choppity switches you back to Default style so you can adjust caption settings, logo placement, and layout from a clean base.

Replace or override a template (at your plan limit)

Choppity does not overwrite a saved template in place today. If you are at your plan's template limit and want a fresh version of the same look:

  1. Delete the old template using the steps above (this frees one slot).

  2. Stay on Default style or tweak the settings on the Customize step.

  3. When your layout looks right, click Save as new template next to the Template dropdown.

Your updated style is saved under a new name and ready for the next batch.

Edit what a template contains

To change fonts, colors, logo, or caption style inside a template:

  1. Select the template from the dropdown, or start from Default style after deleting the old one.

  2. Adjust settings on the Customize step (caption style, size, transitions, and more).

  3. Click Save as new template to store the updated version.

You can also open an edited clip in the video editor and use Create template in the header to save the current layout. See Creating your first brand template for the full save workflow.

Plan limits

Free accounts include a starter template allowance. Paid plans unlock more custom templates. See Which plan is right for me? for counts on Starter and Pro.

Coming soon

We are building a dedicated templates page for easier browsing and management. Until then, use the Customize step dropdown to rename, delete, and recreate templates.
