Editing your video by editing the transcript

Transcript-based editing lets you cut video by selecting words, not frame numbers. Because the transcript stays synced to your footage, clicking text is often the fastest way to trim and clean up a clip.

Open the transcript

Select your main video, then open the Transcript sub-tab. If your project has multiple clips, select the clip you want to edit on the timeline first.

Click any word to move the playhead to that moment. Use the search field to jump to a topic or quote quickly.

Cut by selecting text

In Cut mode, drag across words to remove them from the clip. Removed sections show as struck-through gaps. Drag across a gap or choose Restore to bring audio back.

Build clips from selections

In Trim mode, drag the purple handles to set in and out points. Select a phrase and choose Create a clip to split it into its own segment.
