Editing and correcting a transcript

Transcripts power text-based editing in Choppity's Content OS. Fixing words in the transcript updates captions and timing together, which is faster than dragging boxes on a traditional subtitle track.
Open the transcript editor
Inside a clip, open the Captions or transcript panel. Words align to timestamps. Click any word to jump playback to that moment and verify context before you change spelling.
Edit text
Click a word or sentence and type corrections for names, jargon, or misheard phrases. Changes flow to on-screen captions automatically. Use this instead of dragging caption boxes when the issue is wording, not timing.
Adjust timing
Drag caption boundaries on the timeline for fine sync after text is correct. Combine transcript edits with split and merge tools for natural pacing on fast talkers or dramatic pauses.
Save and export
Saving the clip persists transcript fixes for collaborators. Export captions as SRT or VTT from transcript tools when you need sidecar files for YouTube, Vimeo, or other players.
