Motion in captions keeps viewers watching. Choppity offers line-level animations, word-level effects, and separate caption effect layers for emphasis during intros, punchlines, or calls to action.

Line and word animations

Select the captions object and open the Animation panel. Use the Lines dropdown for how each caption line enters (options include bounce and fade up). Use the Words dropdown for per-word motion such as appear, semi appear, or karaoke styles.

Caption effects (CFX)

For bolder moments, add a caption effect from the sidebar Effects panel. Choose from presets like Magic captions, Zoom, or Scroll. Each effect appears as its own timeline object you can time to specific moments.

Emphasize specific words

Inside a caption effect, open Emphasized words and click words in the transcript to toggle emphasis styling. Ideal for names, numbers, or key phrases.

Preview and balance

Play through your clip after applying animations. Subtle word motion often works best for talking-head content; save bold effects for hooks or transitions.
