Choppity generates captions from your audio so viewers can follow along, even on mute. You can fix typos, adjust line breaks, and fine-tune word timing without re-transcribing the whole video.
Open the caption editor
- Click the captions workspace icon above the timeline.
- Select the captions object on the timeline if it is not already selected.
- Open the Edit text tab in the left panel.
Edit caption text
Each caption page appears as an editable text area. Click a word to seek the playhead to that moment. Type directly to fix spelling or rephrase lines. Press Enter to start a new caption page, or add a space to split a word if needed.
Adjust timing and layout
Under Word timings, toggle Edit word timings to drag individual words on the timeline for tighter sync. Use the Max. chars. per line slider to control how text wraps on screen, which matters for vertical video where horizontal space is limited.
Fix a single spoken word
In the video Trim or Cut panel, select one word and choose Correct from the popup. Enter the right spelling and click Correct or Correct all if the same mistake appears multiple times.
